Our prediction came true! The First-look trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 teased using the controller (or ‘joy-con’ as Nintendo brands it) as a mouse, but based on the footage we saw in late January we speculated that some games may even have the player use both joy-cons as mice at the same time. But how and why? What type of interactions would they dream up for this set-up.
Shortly after we published our prediction the official launch trailer showed how a brand new game called Drag x Drive would use two mice at the same time. Taking inspiration from a real-life sport: wheelchair basketball! An implementation that is genius and logical at the same time.
