Android Developer (Junior or Intermediate)
Wellington • Full-time
At Alphero, we don't just design apps, we imagine and build the future of digital. We're looking for an Android Developer who's on the journey to build their craft with Kotlin and Compose, and who's genuinely curious about AI, machine learning, and next-gen digital experiences.
We're on a journey where AI-powered mobile experiences, context-aware digital agents, and seamless cloud integrations are becoming the new norm. If that excites you and you're eager to grow alongside a team that's shaping what's next, keep reading.
Your role:
- Build and contribute to Android applications using modern best practices, with guidance and support from senior engineers.
- Learn and experiment with AI and machine learning capabilities within mobile experiences.
- Collaborate closely with principles, designers, and engineers to bring bold digital ideas to life.
- Get exposure to full-stack solutions and cloud infrastructure (AWS) if that interests you, or simply bring the curiosity to learn.
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Have at least 1+ years of experience in Android development (we care more about mindset and potential than exact years).
- Have a solid foundation in Kotlin and Compose, with familiarity across MVVM architecture, REST APIs, and mobile UX principles.
- An understanding of Android application security principles would be an advantage
- Are genuinely curious about AI and emerging tech, from coding assistants to AI-powered digital interactions.
- Love collaborating in an in-office environment where big ideas take shape (Wellington-based).
- Are ready to work in New Zealand.
We're about inventiveness, bravery, and shaping the digital future. If you want to do more than just build apps, if you want to grow into a developer who crafts experiences that define what's next, let's talk.
