Alphero is a digital agency working with businesses big and small across New Zealand, to build digital services that make a difference for all of Aotearoa. You’ll find we’re behind many of the apps and sites you already know well.
We use fresh, modern, reusable code bases and strategic architecture to future-proof our solutions, all while ensuring that accessibility and security are baked in at every level. Our talented and dedicated devs ensure we are able to deliver on the bold and inventive digital experiences that we envision. They take pride in producing rock-solid, high-quality products at pace, with design vision brought to life to the nearest pixel.
We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to come join the Alphero team.
Being part of an agency (that builds products) means you’ll get to be involved in the full lifecycle of a product - from architecture to continuous delivery and releases.
You’ll be working on really interesting projects from media streaming services and video-on-demand to cutting edge health technology, weather, energy, education, transport and more.
We are looking for warm, collaborative, curious people who love to code. As a Senior you will be hands-on coding and leading workstreams, contributing to products that deliver genuinely impactful outcomes. You will take pride in the elegance and quality of your code, and love to continuously improve it as you go.
You’ll actively enjoy being part of a supportive team of colleagues and clients, and understand the value of sparking ideas by working collaboratively in person. At the same time, we absolutely support flexible and hybrid working for balance.
Working in a consulting business means good communication is vital, but you can do this in your own style. You might be a quiet presence or a more extrovert type - either is great!
At Alphero, we have three key pillars that run right through our business. They are: Inventive, Emotive and Brave. Our whole organisation gets behind these, so in your cover letter we'd love to hear how you'll personally help bring these to life!
We’re looking for people with 4-10+ years experience with an agency background.
The key ‘doing’ skills in this role are: the creation of understandable, supportable code; experience working on all the layers of an application; and care for the security and privacy of the user's data. If you have some gaps, that’s OK, there’s an opportunity to learn - both technical skills and consulting and leadership.
If you aren't based in Wellington (but are in New Zealand) we may contribute towards relocation costs.
