WCAG 3.0 is coming. But WCAG 2 isn’t going anywhere.
The third iteration of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines is expected in late 2027, with a new grading system and broader coverage of digital platforms beyond just websites. The catch? The current WCAG 2.2 won’t become redundant when 3.0 comes out, so we could be living with both for quite some time.
